What’s Your Dream Home?

During our courtship, I was enjoying a moment with my fiance (now husband) and he said “Sweetheart, what is your DREAM HOME?”

I paused for a short moment to gather my thoughts. #smiling. #clearsMyThroat

“I love to have a very spacious sitting room with high ventilation, decently furnished with a touch of class. A cozy bedroom with blue light, a pretty kitchen, a nice backyard and a prayer room” Laughing

He smiled faintly.

“I want a home that is filled with love and peace, a home like an altar where God’s children live, a home where the door will be open to the needy, I want to have a guest room where we can welcome loved ones, a special haven for us to escape from the busy city life, with a special room where we can dream big dreams and be who God created us to be”

Yikes! Wow!

My husband’s dream home is something breathtaking for me.

I felt so shallow in my thinking.

The Scriptures that came to

my mind now is

“Let’s build a small room for him on the roof and furnish it with a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp. Then he will have a place to stay whenever he comes by.” 2 Kings 4:10

” They worshiped together at the Temple each day, MET IN HOMES for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity-” Acts 2:46

So my husband smiled and asked “Can we have this dream home?”

“Yes” I gave him my word. And he gave me his word that he would allow God to act on his behalf and let us have that dream home.

Why am I sharing this?

Your marriage is not just about you. It is about how your marriage would be a blessing to God’s Kingdom business regardless of whether you are a minister of the Word or not. In fact, every child of God is a minister in a capacity.

My thought was enlarged when I considered many families that have opened their doors and hearts to us in fulfilling our purpose. Countless people who received us joyfully into their homes, who sat us down to groom us, who hosted us and treated us like we were family. The thought of the very first family that hosted me when on my very first visit to the US and made me live my American Dream.

As you are looking forward to marriage, begin to see your home as an altar to minister to lives.

This is God’s grand purpose for your marriage.

It’s cool to have a magnificent edifice but it is more of what you both share in the heart and how your union can be a blessing to lives.

We have a special way of entertaining our visitors; Physical food and spiritual meat. You must leave nourished in your spirit. The contact must impact a virtue on your spirit.

Talking about a dream home where there’s tranquility and love, it goes beyond just fascinating about it, it takes your joint responsibility and commitment to have such a home.

Forgiveness is a daily routine to have such a home. There’s no home that is stereotype.

The best of the best couples in the world would have disagreements at one point or the other which can threaten the peace and love in the home but the ability to handle those issues with love and in good spirit is the way out.

You are unrealistic if you think I and my husband don’t have misunderstandings. We are not robots. We do have but always have it at the back of our minds that whatever happens, it must be resolved.

For the married folks, I don’t know how it has been since you got married, but I want to encourage you not to give up.

I perceive in my spirit concerning someone reading this message, your marriage has not been what you dreamed of. There have been more days of rancour than laughter. Allow me to tell you that “Rain will fall” You will understand. I am encouraging you to put in more effort. Don’t discard it! Keep working at it! Pray it out! Talk! I pray for a re-order in that home in the name of Jesus. I send out every spirit of rancour and chaos out of your home in Jesus name. I pray you have the wisdom to handle your issues in Jesus name. Let love, joy and peace flow from the castle of your home. You can have your desired home.

Your marriage is all about Jesus.

Cheers from my Corner to Yours!
